Much has changed over the four years I have been burning corn. When I first started, the market price, the price the farmer was getting paid for #2 grade corn, was $1.43/bu. Though at that time, various service charges brought the delivered price, at a corn burner's door, to $2.20/bu. I remember at the time, being quite grumbly about the fact I was being chiseled by my local grain co-op for eighty cents. I would dearly love to be paying those prices now. What a difference time makes, eh?

I really wish I could just say we turned it on and it worked. Not quite. The birth of this web site involved me being down in the basement trying to figure out what was going on with this new $10,000 investment. It was a scary time, what with the wife standing over my sholder asking me if we had done the right thing. In this article I cronical my adventures in first burning corn.

Photos of our corn burner installation.  This page might end up being little more than a collection of pictures. What is there to say? I did not do the installation myself. I hired a local plumbing and heating company to do it.  I did take pictures, provide comment and ask questions though.  I will try to get the information in here.
