I Burn Corn

Newsflash

Welcome to the new I Burn Corn web site.  I am still doing some work on the site, obviously, and so it is going to be a little tough to get around for a couple of days.  Mainly, I suppose you want to be able to find the LINK TO THE FORUM

How much corn will I burn? PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 16 July 2008

I guess to answer this question I will ask you to answer one for me. How much does a car cost? You see, there are lots of different cars just as there are lots of different types and uses for corn burners. Check out the pages here on this site and you will see exactly how much corn I have been burning. Compare that to the energy bills I also have posted here and you will see how much natural gas I was using. From that you should be able to make some educated guesses.

However, some corn stoves do post information about how many hours their stoves will run given certain BTU output settings. For instance, the Northern Tool Equipment stove publishes: How long will the stove burn on two 50-lb. bags of corn? A) 37 hours on lowest heat setting (20000 BTU) 13 hours on highest heat setting (55000 BTU). So given some estimates on how much heat you are going to need you should be able to get an even better idea.
