I Burn Corn

Newsflash

Welcome to the new I Burn Corn web site.  I am still doing some work on the site, obviously, and so it is going to be a little tough to get around for a couple of days.  Mainly, I suppose you want to be able to find the LINK TO THE FORUM

Can I vent out through the side of my house? PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 16 July 2008

It depends on your stove design but certainly this type of venting is possible with many designs. Check with your manufacturer. The several questions you should ask them are: What happens when the power goes out? Will the corn burner be damaged by the lack of vent? Or will there be other problems? Will the power vent need special cleaning? Corn burning produces a fine dust called Fly Ash that can plug up power vent units.  But, regardless of what the manufacturer says, side venting is not ideal.
