I Burn Corn

Newsflash

Welcome to the new I Burn Corn web site.  I am still doing some work on the site, obviously, and so it is going to be a little tough to get around for a couple of days.  Mainly, I suppose you want to be able to find the LINK TO THE FORUM

Cleaning Videos
There is no such thing as clean burning biomass. These videos cover the cleaning of furnaces, changing the burn pots in the case of Traegers.

Here is a flash video of me doing a furnace cleaning and starting a new fire. It is a little dark in places so you can't see everything. It should give you some idea of what is involved in running one of these corn burners. The main thing I want you to realize out of watching this video is that burning corn, wood pellets, or any other biomass, is more work than natural gas. It is much easier to walk over to the wall and turn up the thermostat, and never think about it again until the gas bill shows up.

No burn pot to change out on an LDJ but here is a video of my neighbor Jason doing a cleaning of his boiler. Mostly it involves cleaning the flue tubes, but also covers cleaning out the ash pan.
