Occam apparently thinks what we're experiencing in the U.S. is somehow "unprecedented" and clear evidence of AGW in action.

Folks, just take a read of the following examples and decide for yourselves.

www.breadandbutterscience.com/Weather.pdf

There are literally thousands more out there. Google is not the AGW alarmist's friend.

Xracer, instead of presuming to tell everyone what I think about everything - I can do that quite adequately without your help, why don't you state your own ideas if you have any and support them with data and argument.

Bad weather happens. Thank you for dedicating an entire thread to enlightening us on this controversial topic. For your next theory try something a little more complex or entertaining like: night follows day, or blondes have more fun.

4 years of enduring your posts in this forum is plenty long enough to know what your thinking is.

Every bit of weather you post infers it has some sort of connection to CO2 or that man did it.

Posts can't infer anything, they might imply plenty. The well informed reader might very well infer that much of the extreme weather events over the last few decades have been due to global warming and therefore caused by people.

Here is statistical evidence that most of the recent extreme weather was man made. Including an 80% chance that the epic 2010 Russian heat wave was caused by global warming.

Not true. I read the article. The article makes a case that the russian heat wave was a result of global warming. It makes almost no statement about the cause of global warming. In fact here is what it says:

While the new method doesn’t consider the causes of climate change, Rahmstorf and Coumou write that “given the strong evidence that most of the warming of the past fifty years is anthropogenic, most of the recent extremes in monthly or annual temperature data would probably not have occurred without human influence on climate.”

Wow, there's some real science. That's about the same as this:

Given the strong evidence that Tim Tebow doesn't throw the ball accurately, the Broncos probably will not win on Sunday.

Oh, but wait, the Broncos did win on Sunday. It's important to separate the facts like "the earth has warmed a bit over the last 100 years" from guesses like "man's activities are the cause of the warming". The first is pretty easy to measure, the second is anything but, and plenty of respected experts who know much more about it than I dispute the second claim.

Rahmstorf must have learned his math from Mann. The guy is a joke.

Hey Occam, U.S. winters are warming up just as predicted right? I'm sure Rahmstorf can fix it.

Let's guess; the recent snow storms out East were because it was too warm to rain. That's about the right logic.

Was that before or after the "adjustments"?

1.45 degC per century! Oh my, the world's coming to an end! With that graph you should apply for an internship with Rahmstorf and convince everyone that winter actually starts in November and ends in February. Odd though, I couldn't find November-February listed at NCDC. Is that a new season? Should we call it Fallwinspring?

Why aren't winters getting warmer Occam? We've been told winters would be getting warmer and warmer and warmer. What is the annual trend for the last ten years according to NCDC? 15 years? Wasn't it supposed to be accelerating unabated? Hansen said 2-4 degrees by year 2000 IIRC; I'm sure you can find the quotes.

Oh wait, here's the U.S. "accelerating warming trend" for the last 15 years: A BIG FAT ZERO

Hey look, the permanent drought in Australia!

Dear Occam,
The issue is whether winter temperatures are rising as predicted, after the predictions were made. Next you'll claim AGW promoters never said NH winter snow cover would decrease, or that Europe's snowy winters would be a thing of the past. Of course though, no matter what happens, it is always consistent with AGW "theory".

In 2004 Lake Powell was the poster child for permanent drought in the SW, and predicted to go dry by 2010. Guess where it is now?

Take your rose colored glasses off. The climate is changing, but not in the direction you've been claiming for the last 4 years. The AMO is now swinging negative. It's not looking good for the AGW windbags.

Why must you always be disingenuous?
