I would agree as Mary posts as:

I am sick of it!

Sorry - not three or four sentences as you asked -- just 5 words and my vote

I found this presentation quite interesting though a bit long at a little over an hour. I paid particular attention to a part of it where they discussed the chemicals found in the ice core samples from the nuclear testing in the early 1960's . It reminded me of a video I saw a while back in the Welcome Mat section where it was mentioned we have "The Bomb".

I am glad you also found it interesting, Jawquin. It was a bit long; I only watched half of it, but that was after watching one of the other AGU presentations.

I think it should stay, if you don't like it don't read it.
I personally don't believe any of it.
but its not hurting anything and I'm sure there are some people who like reading it.

Ok, I have to admit, (and I say right on the topic description) I don't monitor this topic close enough to know why everyone is so pissed off. Could someone give me a three or four sentence synapsis?

Hello ja,

As to why some are pissed off currently, it appears to me that one or two that have no interest in this topic have accidentally subscribed and are getting emails that they view as spam. Rightly some have politely suggested that those members un-subscribe from this thread so that they are not bothered.

As to why people often get pissed off in this forum topic in general, I think maybe people sometimes use objectionable language and personal attacks. This topic runs close to politics and religion and emotions sometimes run amok. Members (myself included) should be courteous at all times and avoid offense.

I for one greatly appreciate that you included this topic in your new forum, when you didn't have to and I'm sure it causes you headaches. I also appreciate that you allow members to converse without over moderation. This freedom is true American Way and you are to be commended.

There is nothing unusual or outside natural variation going on despite how many alarmist news articles quoting agenda driven scientists. The hype today is no different than the 70s ice age scare, just infinitely more funding to sell the stories. Where is the evidence to support a death spiral of the Arctic?

There was no 70s ice age "scare", I was there. Most scientist, even then, saw global warming as the more likely and imminent threat than an iceage, though it got no public attention.

And at that time they didn't have decades of warming data, paleoclimate data or the other vast arrays supporting data from numerous fields that demonstrate global warming.

Loss of Reflectivity in the Arctic Doubles Estimate of Climate Models

— A new analysis of the Northern Hemisphere's "albedo feedback" over a 30-year period concludes that the region's loss of reflectivity due to snow and sea ice decline is more than double what state-of-the-art climate models estimate.
