I saw that on TV the other day. Those people walk amongst us.
Some live animals are shipped by mail and have been for a long time. Newly hatched baby chicks, packages of honeybees and queen honeybees. Baby chicks are shipped in boxes with air holes of 100 chicks each. Newly hatched chicks are OK for several days without water or feed. Back in the 40s I went with my dad one night with 5,000 newly hatched chicks from Des Moines, IA to the Railway Express station in Kansas City, MO to put on a express train to Texas. They were to go by air express but an ice storm grounded the plane. The highways weren't much better but we made it.
Honeybees are shipped 3# to 5# in wire enclosed wooden boxes with a can of sugar syrup. If they come to the post office overnight the post office calls really early to notify you they are there.
Queen honeybees are shipped in small screened boxes about the size of a small match box. The box has bee "candy" and a few worker bees for attendants that feed and care for the queen.
Countryside 3500P (pedestal version) used 10 yrs, 24/7 during days requiring heat. All original motors. Burns moldy corn, and pellets equally well. Burn it if you got it.

You should never ask this question or the one in the title of this thread, because as soon as you ask it, someone will come along and do something even more stupid.

Stupid or just plain lazy? You decide...

I listened to my neighbor's loud mufflered truck at 4:30 a.m. City plow had buried the end of his drive yesterday. When he came home from work in the afternoon, it was 38* and sunny, snow was soft but he managed to get his truck in the drive. This morning (18* and snow frozen solid), he got stuck in that big ridge of snow. Now, was it stupid not to spend 5 min. in the sunny afternoon scooping the snow out of the way...or lazy and inconsiderate to subject everyone to his spinning tires, gunning engine and rapping muffler so early in the morning? Mind you, the majority of the home owners here are 45-60ish, whose drives and walks were cleared. He's 30ish, seldom clears his walks and drive (even has a snowblower, it's not like he'd have to use some muscle)...my vote is for STUPID and LAZY. Just one description doesn't say enough...

I feel for you......In my old house I had a neighbor next door with a couple loud trucks. We would buy them and then cut the mufflers off to be cool. He worked every other Saturday and Sunday, so guess what I got to hear at 5:30am? I chatted with him once, he put a exhaust stack on one truck he had with a straight six in it, he said it was like his "race car". Best was in the winter as it sat there idling in the am warming up. Now I live in the country. I have one neighbor but we are a small field apart, and he is retired.
