IF it weren't for unions all the trade workers would be working in unsafe conditions with no benefits for whatever they felt like paying you for as long as they felt like working you and your child would probably be working right along side you instead of in school.

I worked for a non-union kitchen cabinet company for 2 years. They paid a fair wage, had good medical coverage, paid bonuses if we set production records and in general took care of its workers. Unions aren't always the solution, with unions lobbying for raises and extra benefits when the rest of the country is fighting to keep wages stable for the few jobs that are left.

i work for a guy that is a real hardnose. no benefits, no paid holidays, no paid vacation. got to buy my own health insurance. no breaktimes. i have to pay all my own taxes. and i can't remember the last time i missed a day of work either.

Jeeze, and I though my boss was a jerk, lol. How well do you know your boss, lol.........
