I have been thinking (dangerous) about the problem
with the starch building up on the stirrer shaft.
For those of us who used corn, has anyone given an thought
to trying ceramic rod???
I know someone sometime back had some thoughts
about coating the stirrer shaft with a ceramic
material.
I see some 3/8 ceramic rod on Ebay pretty cheap.

I think the ceramic coating would have to be applied after the stirrer is fabricated. Structural shape and strength would have to come from the steel stirrer.
Countryside 3500P (pedestal version) used 10 yrs, 24/7 during days requiring heat. All original motors. Burns moldy corn, and pellets equally well. Burn it if you got it.
