Anyone know why AES doesn't have a snap-disc temp sensor on the fuel hopper near the auger?

I had one incident where I was burning some wet pellets, they backed up towards the auger, burnt back thru the flights towards the hopper and started smoldering the pellets INSIDE the hopper! This was really surprise when I opened the door to refill and found smoke rolling out. So I cleared the piled up pellets, and removed what was left of the smoldering/burnt pellets in the hopper. The door for the hopper was closed by the way if anyone wants to know.

I think that if there was a temp sensor on the hopper for fire safety it would be a good idea.

You could always add one yourself hooked to some kind of alarm buzzer to tell you if you have a fire in hopper. You might want to check your seal on hopper door unless your hopper was nearly empty when this happen you should not get a burn back through auger. Fire will always follow the easiest path and that path should be out your venting not though your hopper. Also when you say you were burning wet pellets, what do you mean? Wet pellets turn into wet sawdust real fast and can not be burned?
