I burn pellets in an LDJ 620-10 A-Maize-Ing Heat furnace. I am not getting a complete burn of my pellets. My ash pan is full of smaller charred pellets. I have the furnace set on 90k BTUs. It seems to me I need more air and less augering in of new pellets. Does anyone know how to adjust the settings for this? I have a 6 inch chimney about 26 feet in the air. It drafts pretty well, in my estimation. Near as I can tell I can only adjust the BTUS....any help would be appreciated. Muggsy
Thanks, Muggsy

It might be you have too much air and it's blowing some of the pellets out of the burn pot. What is you fan setting at? Do you have the pellet conversion kit installed?

Also, where is the level of the pellets in the burn pot?

currently i have a "mushroom cloud" on top of the pot. I didn't know there was a pellet conversion kit. I bought the unit used...from a dealer that was using it in his warehouse with pellets. My high fire setting is Red at .2 and Green at 1.5. Low fire/BTU setting is at 1.5 on both red and green which should be 90k btu. It seems to only do this when the temps rise. At 40 degrees and up. I have had the cumbustion gate open a 1/4 but just opened it to half to see if it makes a difference.
Thanks, Muggsy

Sounds like your idle fire is running too long. Try setting 2 on and 8 off to start and extend off to 10, unless the fire start burning too far down into the burn pot. Should be right at upper burn holes to between upper an lower. When you make an adjustment, only do a little at a time then wait several hours. These things take time to adjust, then adjust again, accordingly.

Nogas---that worked like a charm!!! I have a clean burn with plenty of heat now. Thank you very much for your input. We are happy and warm in central Michigan!!!
