Just wanted to post a hello. I am on my third year of wood pellet burning with a Bixby. Have burned 7 pallets of wood pellets through it so far. Works great to keep my basement warm. Had trouble this year on start up with the ash dump being rusted and not moving. Had to pull burn pot and everything apart and shine up before it would go. Also currently having trouble with the ash dump dumping more frequently than it should. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate help. It dumps more unburned pellets into the ash box than it should also, not sure if this is because of the too frequent dumps?

Try dropping your feed rate down a little. What does your exh system look like? Do you use Bixby pipe? How many elbows and length of pipe are you using? After a couple years it could be plugged or deteriorated. What heat level are you using?

The Exhaust system is fine, I just cleaned out to verify it wasnt plugged. Operating on heat of 6 lights. Pipe I am using for exhaust is stainless with 6" intake and 3" exhaust inside of it. Seems like I get a lot of fines blowing around in the burn area out of the burn pot as it burns and the glass gets blackened fairly rapidly.

You might have the exh fan set a little high with a lot of fines flying around but there maybe a lot of fines in your pellets causing that. Window being black can be caused by ashes plugging the air wash for the window. Open the glass door and looking down you should see a narrow opening below the entire door. Open the ash drawer and you should see straight down from the top drawer. That may be plugged and could also be the reason for fines flying up out of the burning pot.
