When it gets real cold normally you will have to increase the feed rate a little since the cold air contains more oxygen. Something to consider is using a thermostat. It will keep the house temp more even and use less fuel. A cheap one will work just fine.

When I cleaned it I found the feeder wheel gasket worn ragged so I turn it over for now. Pellets are hard on it! ...

For pellets, "loop" gaskets work better: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/BixbyFAQ#Feeder_Wheel_Gasket

...Last night the weather changed and it was extremely windy. I found the pot full to the top I increased the exhaust blower to get them back down but it has taken a while for me to get it adjusted today...

The stove does not like wind pressure against the exhaust. You can try a wind screen as shown here: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/BixbyFAQ#External_Factors or you can make yourself a "strech" cap terminated with an elbow (at least 60 degrees) as shown if you scroll down from here: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/BixbyFAQ#Venting .

Also, it might sound counterintuitive, but overfilling burnpots can arise from a lean situation, so the solution would be to turn DOWN the air, not turn it up. It is explained here: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/Bixby...ng_Trim_Pot_Settings under Lean Overflow.

Colder air is denser, causing your fuel mix to go leaner, as explained here: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/BixbyFAQ#External_Factors . So the sudden downturn in temperature could explain the change in your burn and a lean overflow.

When faced with an overflowing pot, cardoctork, you can force an ash dump by hitting the on button once.

Hope everyone weathers the cold snap warmly and safely!!

Thanks Steady
I got it dialed in very cold here in Northeast Indiana. Running level 4 at night had 5 this evening. It is 9 degree now at 10:30 pm Did not hear the LP furnace come on this evening but house is still more comfortable. And when the pot was full of pellet it looked rich lazy yellow flame I turned up exhaust until the pot cleaned itself. Then made small adjustments now looks real good. I'm sure Saturdays wind did not help.

Sounds like you're close to us, cardoctork. We're just south of Ft. Wayne. Cold and windy as the dickens, for sure.

Glad you got her running better.

Steady
I'm up North near Angola. Tonight getting close to 7 degrees stove is on number 5 tonight putting out good heat:cheer: Seems to be easier to tune when the air is crisp and cold with calm wind. Next will be getting 2.71 installed and loop feed wheel gasket. Hope I can find another stove locally like this one.

When I installed my Tstat I set a three degree swing in temp so it would not cycle on and off all the time. It is a great way to go-you will use much less fuel. I have been burning pellets for the last 3 years since corn here in OH got so high. Good luck sounds like you got a good stove.
Corny-Glad to see you are still cranking out all that great advice!!
