I have a Maxfire 115 that I purchased new a few years ago, 3 or 4. I have always burned wood but when the pellet stoves hit the market I thought that this was going to be much easier then dealing with wood. I purchased 4 tons of wood pellets from a local merchant and thought I was all set for the winter, well it didn't heat the same as the wood did. I ran maybe 15-20 bags of pellets through the stove before I disconnected it and went back to wood.
I know I paid over $2000 plus the shipping for the unit at the time. The color is black with the gold trim door. I saw the same unit listed on eBay for $1595 today. If someone lives in the northeast area I would let it go for $900.00. If interested you can call me at 207-740-6225

Hi,
I've had 54 people that have reviewed this post and only 1 person has responded to wish me luck with the sale since the Harmon is much better then the Maxfire. If you think that the selling price is too high I would appreciate any feedback what would be realistic. By the way my wood stove is made by Harmon and it is a well made product.
Thanks,
Jim

J if you post it in the For Sale Section you may get a bite! Mine is posted there with plenty of spare parts (Needed with the Bixby ) and my price was 1250 collectively the value of the parts if purchased seperately were worth pretty close to that !Ill bury it in the land fill before I give it away ! Again Good Luck

Feedback for you on sell price. I picked up a Bixby 115 couple years back for $600 from a dealer and was in good shape, new ash drawer gasket (I had material) only thing I've done, green maybe less desireable color but in my shop didn't care. Different part of the country making some of this difference?

I'd been looking for a shop pellet stove for few years and not interested at prices of $1200-$1300+ typical Craiglist asking prices.

Agree on real wood heat, can't beat it and still do on weekends, but love the convenience of the Bixby on a programmable thermostat turning on so I have some heat in the building before I get home or up in the AM

Also have a Harman pellet insert in the house and has been serving me well for several years.

Interesting to me anyway pellets I burned last year loved them in the Harman and constantly trying to get the Bixby to burn well at high settings. This year exact opposite due to different pellets, Harman not burning as well but Bixby doing great with no tweaking needed.

Finding this site allowed me feel I could probably deal with any issues I might encounter with the Bixby otherwise I would have passed on purchase considering it's an out of current production product.

Guessing not what you wanted to hear on price but is a datapoint.
