I like the heat of corn, although pellets are not that far behind. What I really like is that pellets don't corrode the exhaust like corn. I installed all new exhaust so, as much as I like corn, this investment will see only wood.
You can pour syrup on poop, but that don't make it pancakes.

I have been burning pellets for the last 3 seasons and they work well when the stove is set right. I use a thermostat to turn stove on and off when needed and saves a lot of fuel.

I do 30% hard wood pellets and 65% corn works well except a lot more cleaning upper chamber at least every 4-5 days. Never have a hard clinker.
used soy beans also when I got them cheap enough
