We have a Country Flame Harvester HR-01 and we are burning just pellets this year for about a month now -- then after cleaning, the burn pot built up with chunks so the stir rod and pot clunked quite often...would it help to drill more holes in the bottom of the pot since it builds up where there are no holes? Or is there something to add to keep this from happening???

How long does it take for the chunks to build up? How do you clean the chunks out of the pot? Do you have a stove tool, a small tool like a hoe, to clean the burn pot?
Countryside 3500P (pedestal version) used 10 yrs, 24/7 during days requiring heat. All original motors. Burns moldy corn, and pellets equally well. Burn it if you got it.

It burned for 3 weeks first -- then we cleaned it: took it apart and soaked it in water & chipped the pieces off -- after that it started clunking the day after we cleaned it!! So after 3 days of that we took it apart again and it was really built up already...that was last night so we'll see how long it takes this time---

I burnt mostly all pellets last year and I would get the same thing, usually used a screwdriver and gently tapped it with a hammer to chip the stuff out with no problem. My burn pot has the 2 flat bars across the bottom, yours may only have one depending on age.

I would usually notice a air flow problem when it would do this, either the wind direction or the stove being loaded with ash in areas you can't see to prevent smooth exhaust flow. Keeping the air wash area super clean (mine would get loaded with corn in the bottom tube)and adjusting the ash dump doors make a difference also. The beginning of the year I had a terrible time burning corn with a heavy mix of soy beans, long story but that's how I ended up with all pellets.

Be happy to tell you the different ways I found to clean things out if you want me to, guessing you already know if you have one of these.

I have never had any type of hard deposit build up on the burn pot with either corn or wood pellets. Corn leaves "clinker" on the stirrer and corn will make a solid clinker lump in the burn pot. Pellets can make a semi-rigid "clinker" in the burn pot. Soaking in water should disolve hard build up.

What heat setting are you running on??
The higher the worse the problem. Some of the
users only burn on 1 or 2 which does not cause
much of a problem.
Running on 3 - 4 or high changes things drastically!!

Running on #3 never caused a problem either. Running a stirrer on #3 would run the stirrer red hot, almost white.
