I have the MF3650. I have called tech a few times they didnt say anything about increasing the output of the combustion fan. Maybe that's just for the 3800. They did tell me to cycle the ignition two times to start on plain corn and this worked, but that eliminates running on a thermostat. The program only runs the ignition cycle once so you'd need to be standing there ready to manually cycle it again every time the thermostat called for heat after shutting it down. I agree the settings on the manual are so far from how the stove will run it's kind of ridiculous to include in the manual. It was 40 degrees out last night and I couldn't get the room above 70. The room it's in needs to be way above 70 to heat the rest of the house. I can't imagine this thing throwing out any heat when it's single digits outside. I'll throw some corn in with the pellets tonight and see if that helps.

My stove is the MF3800. When I burn corn I throw a handful of pellets in the burn pot before lighting. Then I run it with the thermostat off. We have had 20 below zero temps and it easily heats the house. The local thermostat only measures the temperature near the stove, so you will have to turn it up to get the desired temp in your whole house. I find my stove stays cleaner and uses less fuel with the thermostat off.

Yep, the automatic ignition feature gets in the way of this stove running in the modulation mode off the thermostat. Might have been better off getting the 3500. It doesn't have the auto ignite feature, manual only. It will run in the modulation mode off the thermostat if I read the pamphlet correctly. There for you could burn corn off the thermostat with it. It maintains an efficient burn and wouldn't call for heat until the thermostat dipped. Seems like there ought to be a way to do that wit ha thermostat on these newer models. I did crank it up to higher levels but it would just settle back down to the lower 70's. I fired up the Quad along with this and fell asleep. I woke up an hour later in a pool of sweat. 88 degrees.

On my 3800 you can set the stove as a 3700 model the only difference is the 3800 has a auto lighter. When i change mine to a 3700 I have to manual light the stove but when i run a thermostate the stove runs up example I am on range one level one calls for heat then unit will run it up to 1- 6 if it needs to make the thermostat turn off when it does it goes back down to 1-1 and stays there and waits for the next call for heat. When it is in 3800 mode it will go into system stand by and fire shuts down then auto lights on the next call for heat. When it is cold enough I been running in 3700 mode saving the auto lighter. I just tryed to start stove on straight corn. Corn cost a lot more this year I would not run my stove on straight corn in 3800 thermostat mode. I have ran it on a 50/50 mix I have had no trouble but I do dump the burn pot at least 2 times day when it is off. What is the longest have you let the stove run before dumping the burn pot ? I went 2 days this winter burning 50/50 mix of corn and pellets.

I only dump it once a day. I'm not burning 24 hours a day though.
