Hello folks. We have an earlier pre-FPI model (serial number 1134) manufactured in 2004 and installed 01/05/2005. Wonderful unit but as you well know not entirely ready for prime time. Various issues from time to time including replacement of the combustion fan a few years ago.
The new issue: yesterday, a typical day with the stove set on 3 and chugging away. Getting colder, moved it up to 4. Not long thereafter, here the “click” (presumably from the relay on the board) initiating a feed but the auger does not turn. Stove eventually shuts down with E1 code.
After shutdown, initiated manual feed and auger churns away (although on some prior unrelated occasions the auger does not turn when the manual feed is initiated but after a few restarts does kick in). Unplugged the AC and battery for a while and then restarted.
On restart at A2, same deal. Board calls for pellets, feed auger doesn’t respond.
Haven’t broken the stove down yet to test components but it appears that the auger does work (manual feed) and I am not sure how a bad thermodisc would cause the current symptoms. The control board also does appear to be functioning by calling for the pellets.
Any thoughts? Thanks much.
