Just thought id start this the fahrenheit forum off with a good comment i just started burning this yr and i do have to say i love this stove besides the few learning curves ive had to go through, this thing has been running like a top. We are going to use it as our only source of heat in a 1500 sq ft upstairs (also heating the basement on top of that) house. We are plannin on sticking it out and burn corn. anyone looking into one of these stoves dont hessitate to buy.

Ok fellas I just bought one too!!! What kinda a learning curve am I in for?? I have a countryside 3500 right now. I will be installing it in the basement and burning mostly corn although my dealer said to mix pellets with it to soften the ash. I guess it burns so good that the corn is hard like glass when burnt. Are any of you useing the t stat option, if so what style stat did you go with?

Tinman, yes it was a job I did at MSU Recycle. It's a rain water recovery system. It was a pain they hired us to fix it (completely redesign). Those smart engineers at FTC&H found out the hard way that a filter designed for 9,000 sq. Ft couldn't handle a 72000 sq. Ft roof.

I am on my third year with my Fahrenheit. It runs great and the company is great to work with. Matt and Mark are great to work with.

I use the t stat option on my unit. Works great keeps the my 1300ft home a steady 70 deg. I have also used my programmable t stat in the past but have found the unit does not use any more pellets just setting it and forgetting it.

I run pellets through my unit. I have tried cherry pits but did not like how dirty my unit was compared to the pellets. And at $180/ton pre-buy for pellets vs propane I have no complaints.

Take care and enjoy.

We do use the thermostat setting, (fuel miser) the furnace runs at the lowest setting for 59 minutes or until heat is called for again.
The Honeywell focus pro 6000 is what we used.
Set back t-stats are not my favorite because of the time required to bring everything up to max heat.

Nice compact furnace, fits through doorways and in spaces many will not.

i burn straight corn and have had no issues with the clinker. It cleans enough that its only 3/4 inch thick when it dumps. i used the feulmizer and now i use the t stat i just is a basic digital thermastat just has the temp of the house and the heat setting. Just take the pot apart every 2 weeks or so vacumm it all out and vaccum where the igniter is under teh pot and u should be good to go empty the ash pan 3 or 4 days add fuel dailly..
