I have kind of a noisy combustion motor, is that normal or is it a sign of it going out soon? Where is a cheap place to order parts from, any ideas? thanks

Hello, never yse cheap parts, just inexpensive parts. I came across on thie forum a place that sells surplus parts at a very reasonable cost. They say they are OEM but were overstock, etc, and they bought them up. for my 3500 Bought an exhause and room blowers, and auger, and stirrer gearboxes at a very reasonable cost. Becuse they shipped one cost for one, I bought more than one and with shipping was less than cost of one OEM part from Manufacturer. I know this is cutting the Manufacturer but need to cut costs too. Used the Auger Gearbox and works well. (See how to replace with rod screws instead of the hard to turn hex head screws)Anyway The name is "Surplus Center" Lincoln Nebraska. They supplied a Catalog and their number is 1-800-488-3407. Be sure to use the manual you received with your stove to cross reference their numbers with your OEM number first.

(Moderator get back to me if I should not give this type of info out.)

Grainger should have a replacement, but may not be the cheapest. Check with your dealer and compare prices. Good luck.

Mine made a humming noise but it was cause there was a build up around the fan. When my fan went the last time it was cause it basically seized while running.

O i think the only reason the last one i replaced was cause i couldnt get the fan off and i had to smack it out with a hammer and punch and i wrecked the motor. But it was about 4 years old i think. I did have to replace one on my newer stove after a year but im not sure why it went. But it was good after that. I run my stoves hard, but not over, I think it had more to do with what i was burning. I found that barley was very hard on the fan for some reason, it left alot of residue compared to other grains.
