Thinking of buying used P61 any pre purchase tips before I hike 160 miles across MN to see? Not at all familiar with this line of stoves other than reviews not very complimentary of support.
Thanks

I bought a Harman PB105 boiler 3.5 years ago. What I did not check on is support. Try to find a phone number on their website. That should tell you something. All support is through their dealers, some good some not so good as in my case here in Vermont.

While my boiler has saved me tons of $$$ over the cost of fuel oil and is pretty well built they do not make it DYI repair friendly. Their trouble shooting documentation is fair at best and as in the case with my dealer he treats trouble shooting like Voodoo, saying a lot of nothing useful, in my opinion incompetent.

My suggestion is to contact your local dealer to see if he/she is willing to service the stove because you will need parts and or service at some point. Try to get a feel for their competency. Good Luck!
Due to budget cuts the light at the end of the tunnel will be removed. -unknown
