I get a loud metallic snapping noise from the stove which happens intermittently and seems to happen right after the auger turns off. Presently burning pellets but have had same noise when using corn. Any ideas what is happening?

Subject: 4 blinking light problem on PC-45 won't light - by: mnhunter2

Stove is set to burn wood pellets and the status board shows 4 blinking lights, problem started after I opened the door when the stove was trying to light, wanted to clear some ashes out of the pot before the fire got started. It wouldn't start or run at all, after a good cleaning and blowing a little air thru the pressure differential switch I got the stove to run on manuel mode but it won't light itself. Called my dealer who thought I shoud start with the ESP probe and replace that first, I have cleaned it with a light brush, any thoughts?

i've been burning a Harman cast iron Accentra insert for 2 weeks now 24/7. at first it was blowing hot heat, now just warm heat. Wondering if it needs a good cleaning or what? i burn a mix of corn and pellets. 50/50. have not changed any settings. do the heat exchangers not get as hot when they have a LITTLE build up on them?
Thanks, Craig

I purchased a new stove this year. After many, many hours of reading it was a very tough decision. I ended up getting the Harman XXV and I absolutely love it. Just wondering if anyone else on this site has one? So much easier clean than my old Quad Mt. Vernon non AE, loved the quad but it was time.

Subject: How hot is TOO hot? - by: Nogas

I cleaned out the PC45 stove last night, put the corn pot in, and filled with corn and forgot I had the feed rate set to 2.5, because I was burning a corn/pellet mix with the pellet pot. The fire started and we went out to eat. Upon returning home, the thermometer on the front by the air holes was at 575 degrees. Once I turned feed rate down to 1/2, it cooled back down to 475.

Is there a high limit switch on this stove cira..2005?
