I'm just wondering if there's any way of identifying one's specific posts that attract Karma, or the reverse. I've been noticing some surprising drops in Karma. It might be constructive to learn which specific posts contributed to that while rightfully perserving the anonymity that makes it all work. I'm thinking that such feedback might make it easier for one to correct one's own behaviour for the future. In the jargon of quality system management, it's about feedback to help drive continuous improvement.

I agree. I have been giving a little feedback if I get a helpful answer (whether I asked or just read it). Not sure if I gave any negative yet, well maybe for sting, but I think he wants it that way

Apparently it makes no difference in the great plan, I KNOW that Internet is a figment of everyone’s imaginations created by the winds of a running hamster, but other people actually believe this. Whatever, Karma here - its all crazy --

Your words are my food, your breath my wine. You are everything to me. - Sarah Bernhardt

Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. - Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian; wine and tarragon make it French. Sour cream makes it Russian; lemon and cinnamon make it Greek. Soy sauce makes it Chinese; garlic makes it good. - Alice May Brock

Avoid fruits and nuts. You are what you eat. - Jim Davis (Garfield)

Some people wanted champagne and caviar when they should have had beer and hot dogs. - Dwight D. Eisenhower

Thanks for making my day, Sting.

I happen to like beer & hotdogs, btw.

Some kind folks have keyed that Thank-You button at the bottom of some of my more lucid posts of advice and mirth.

That has been my badge of honor

-- this Karma thing has been proven (obviously by many) fine board members using me as the example, that its all crap.

Amen, Sting and Corny. I don't understand how some get such negative numbers. Sting, yeah sometimes you're a bit snippy but I get a kick out of you. And 90% of the time, you're right on! You're always willing to help and are a font of knowledge that few can rival. You always make me laugh and I don't think most of us do that enough.

As far as I'm concerned, Corny should be way high on his Karma, considering all he does in the Wiki and sharing his knowledge in all other posts, not just the Bixby forum. Why Tallcorn has such negative numbers, I just don't get. Tall is nothing but helpful to everyone. So, for my two cents, I'm sorry to see the abuse of something that should be good. Thank goodness for the thank you button. You're correct in your assessment of it, Sting, it is a badge of honor. Now to steal a saying from Corny...I'm off my soapbox now...

I've got a question about karma... Is the ability to give karma about a post ever stop? I mean if I read a post that was six or seven months old, could I still give the author good or bad karma?

All in all, I like the karma system. I don't think its suppose to be taken to seriously. Just a amusement.
