This morning, I was smelling a light hint of smoke, and I knew I was about out of fuel. When I opened the door on the boiler, there was a small fire down in the bottom of the burn pot. The bin had a couple of pellets on the rim of the bin and it was empty. I guess it smoked a little earlier, but there was none in there and it didn't small bad! Refilled and added a few by hand to the burn pot and had the fire back up to between two sets of air holes in no time.

I will throw in my thoughts on pure pellets. I have the pellet kit from Stateline Corn Burners.
- I hate bags. Corn in buckets is a lot nicer and easier to handle.
- My furnace keeps going way above the burn pot. I scrape the clinker tool around the edges twice a day when I come in from chores and it still builds up REALLY hard ash on the bottom.
- Corn is hotter. The house is warmer and nicer when I burned corn or a mix.
- Mixes burn better with less ash and less problems.

I will second the corn mix, but I saw some really high temps on my door burning pellets, once they are dialed in, but it sure does eat thru them on the real cold nights!

My bad, that was a slight corn mix I was burning. LOL ignore the second part of my previous post.
