I finally broke down and purchased a Honeywell strap on aquastat for heat dump, for the boiler. I keep her hot, around 190, but if she idles a lot and no calls for heat, she can go over 200+ degrees, which is over the high limit setting and shuts the boiler off till the temp drops below 190(+/-). I have the strap on set for 200 degrees and will raise the high limit on the boiler just over that, so if it does get too hot, will use the house as the heat dump, and not shut off the boiler. 10 degree differential will bring right back down to 190. Still have another several weeks till the boiler gets fired up, unless it stay seasonably warm for a while.

I am starting to wonder if I can hold of till January at this point. 50's by day and 40's by night, wonder if snow and cold are in sight. Sure makes heating a lot cheaper .

I fired up the boiler today, going into lower 20 and cold for next couple days.

This is awesome! Upper 20's outside, and boiler is idling, and she gets to hot on just idle fire and the heat dump sends heat into house. Should be able to use much less fuel, and just idle the fire like in a furnace and get heat into house with out going to high fire as often, because there will be less calls for heat!

Best part, can burn the junk pellets in the boiler with a little corn and don't have to waste them in the stove, where it struggles to burn!
