drysun, do you get a clinker like tfg or do you get total powder like me?
You can pour syrup on poop, but that don't make it pancakes.

Cz, Try taking ashes out right away after they cool and see if they try to hold together. When they sit they soften. Also the larger the better tiny ones fall in pieces.

I do get clinker like stuff. Although honestly, I just stir the pot with the clinker tool. It probably causes some ash to fall through the holes, but I shutdown and clean out my stove about once a week anyway. Mine are dark black and crumbly. I'm cheap so to me, the dark black means not everything burned which is why I stir it instead of popping it out.

Here's an example. I just stirred it and the blue circles is the clinker chunks. Still trying to figure out your secret for super clean glass over several days of burning (or are you wiping it when you open the door?)

drysun, When you compared the size of the motors Sparta negative draft to Nesco, Were you comparing with the Nesco positive draft motor or Nesco negative draft motor?

I don't have a Nesco negative draft motor, so I can't compare. I pulled the part numbers off the Sparta negative draft blower and the one off the Nesco positive draft motor.

Sparta = Fasco A082 / 7021-8293
Nesco positive draft = 7021-9258

The Sparta one is listed on Fasco's site as "Nameplate CFM 75" (but the sticker on the motor reads 70CFM) while I had to search Google for the Nesco positive draft and all sites indicate that it's 60 CFM. You have the Nesco negative draft, so not sure if you have the model number or a pic we can use as a reference if you are interested.

Every once in a while I get something like you are showing but they just disintegrate as soon as I touch them. Never bigger than a quarter and have absolutely no structure or ridgity to them. No...I don't wipe the glass except for cleaning day. I just let the glass wash system do it's job.

I will make a wire lifter like yours and see if I can get a brick.

If it will help # 9 wire 18 " straightened. Bend exactly in half 1 1/2 apart. Put 4 1/2 in vice and bend sharply to 90*
Cut 1/4 hardware cloth 6 spaces x 22 spaces leaving 1/2 space stubbs on outside
. With needle nose pliers bend 1st space at right angle. Go to other end and go to third space and bend 90* same direction. Fold completely over. Put pliers on fold in one space and hold while bending to 90* long side then short side. Put short end on wire so mesh is on outside of end and bulk of mesh is on top. The ends go through little foot which you gently pull on to stretch after it's on. Bend up mesh on open end to look like ramp. Done. The ends protect bottom holes on end from plugging mesh keeps bottom holes full length from plugging and entire pot gets air through entire burn. It took me awhile to get it right and I'm close.

I'm not sure we can compare motor size if they are doing opposite things. Mine is in back of fire place so can't get to it. Maybe the sparta motor isn't larger.

There is a picture of my motor on the Sparta site I do believe.
