TOPIC: Conversion Kit - Location of air adjustment screw

Conversion Kit - Location of air adjustment screw 3 months, 2 weeks ago #17718

I have installed the nesco conversion kit. While reading through the directions, it suggested that I adjust the air flow by turning a screw. I have checked all of these post, called nesco (no reply), and searched all over for this screw. Would someone be able to assist me in locating it? A picture showing where it is would be awesome. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Jeff The screw is right behind the positive flow combustion motor. It's about 3/8's or larger and sticks out maybe 2-3 inches. It requires a hex wrench. The old site had some great pics.
I am assuming your talking about the 4100.

Thank you tfg. I have been scouring the old site since your first post. I do appreciate it. Yes, I am referring to the 4100. I just bought a house with this thing installed. It was burning well when the outside temps were in the 20's, but last week they dropped to below 0 and my house was frigid. Was hoping this minor adjustment would do the trick.

Be careful that you don't open it too far or you will blow the heat right out thru the exhaust. You're looking for blue at the base of the flame with lively yellow flames. it helps to take the fire pot out and put a 90° allen wrench in the hole behind the pot. You can measure the opening to whatever gap you choose. A 7/32 allen wrench just fits in mine. I think tfgrowers is set a little wider.
You can pour syrup on poop, but that don't make it pancakes.

7/32nds is what I have but 3/16's would work too I think maybe

Based on the pictures you shared tfg, is this screw located on the back of my stove?

Looking at front of stove, remove right access panel in back with vent holes.Bbrighten it up with good light inside and look behind pos. combustion fan. It's well hidden even when you know it's there. You may need wd-40 or equal but don't get crazy with it or you will smell it in the house for the rest of the winter. Don't ask how I know. Use a allen with long tail if possible. It may be rusty and or have weld spatter. If you are lucky it will be free. Of coarse you'll have to pull unit out of fireplace so you'll have to decide if it is really in need of a tweek
