Bought a new thermal disc today. At the store, gentleman said that another reason my room fan could be turning off is the blower is cooling the disc down. If I cover it with insulation, it will also fix the problem. So, I put the new disc in. Problem continued. I wrap it in installation, problem still continues:(

Jeff, JUmp wires again to see if fans work. If they do new disc don't work. Double check that new disc is right disc. Return if bad

Jumped wires. Fan works like expected. So I just did a two hour round trip to buy a bad disc. Ugh

I think I figured something out. First, I took the disc with me to the shop and got the same one. Upon further review, the previous owner had a 95 degree where a 110 should have been. Second the new one I purchased, doesn't work. Placed it where the auto off one is, and the auto off won't work. Will having a 95 where it calls for 110 cause this issue?

Another new finding. Since they were all 95, I took the one I've been jumping on (auto off disc) and placed it where the 110 should go. I figured since it worked when I jumped it should work if it is in the 110 spot. Boy, I was wrong. Does the same thing.

Man, your having nuttin but bad luck fella! I would think that the disc does not HAVE to be 110° It just needs to complete the electrical circuit at some temp so the the blower runs. The previous owner must have wanted the blower to kick on earlier than 110°. Like putting a lower temp thermostat in your car so you get heat faster. The new disc appears to be defective. If you need to use the stove before getting the new disc... just get a 6" length of 12 or 14 gauge wire. Look where your stove wires attach to the disc and put the same kind of connections on your 6" wire. This wire will take the place of the disc and complete the electrical circuit. If the main rocker switch is anything but "off", the fan should run. The disc should be replaced at some point though.

jonamo... only go to pellets if you have the multi-fuel kit installed. It is a fire risk otherwise. Pellets are much cheaper to burn right now. I recommend them if corn is not practical.

I am proud to announce that I finally figured out the problem. The room blowers were cooling off the thermo discs. I removed the room blower and insulated the discs with fire proof insulation. I put it around the opening that the removed room blower left. All this basically did was block the wind from getting to the discs and cooling them off. You guys were right, i am enjoying my "new" stove. Thank you again.

That's great news! Glad you discovered the problem. The old disc is probably still good huh? Anyway, enjoy the nice, healthy heat.
