I don't believe there is a gap right now.

It is closed? The valve is i washer that closes against a cyander to close. Please confirm there is no gap between washer and cylander.

Wow, I don't see how it burns at all. Ok somewhere I have a record and even a post that says how many turns from closed will get you very close. If you can loosen screw in meantime I or cz maybe can find that post. I think I sent it to drysun. Remember, If valve is closed then you will need to ease it out counter clockwise.

I always wondered where the air is coming from as it moved through the box. I am still not sure. Could this explain why I have a hard time keeping the fan running?

I didn't find it but matters not. Just set it @ 3/16ths and should work good. It must have been getting a little air from fuel shoot. When you get this set you're in for a pleasant surprise.

I can run mine all day at ~.75 or all day wide open. Fan speed is irrelevent on mine.
You can pour syrup on poop, but that don't make it pancakes.

Now that is what I want to get to!!! The only way I can run fan speed wide open is if feed rate is at an 8.

I run room fan wide open all the time no matter what else is going on with Auger setting. The combustion fan has no adjustment.

I can't run room fan wide open unless Auger setting is at 8. Even as I write this, I have Auger setting at 3 and room fan running the slowest it can go. It is turning off room fan about every 10-15 minutes.

OH I get it. Jeff your fire is so small the disc is shutting down fan. The valve set properly will fix all that.
