Last week my 4100 started burning much hotter at level 2, which is my normal setting for pellets. Lowered to level 1 and temp still around 88 f even with fan on lowest. Bought different brand of pellets, but no difference. Fuel appears to be dropping faster than I recall. Is there a problem with a sensor? I am hoping to fix/replace myself, but am not handy. Installer is over 1 hour away and charges quite a bit for labor due to travel time. No local vendor so welcome any ideas. Thanks!

The auger will run how ever many seconds you have the dial on (if on 2 it will run 2 seconds) and so many off, I can't remember for positive but it think around 5 seconds. You can listen to it or feel the auger to see when/ how much it's running, just don't loose a finger if your using the feel method. I haven't been around the draft kit to burn pellets so there are probably some adjustments you can make there. You seem to be having a good problem since I'm sitting in the negatives for temps.

Measure how many pellets you put in the hopper in 24 hours. You should have a good idea what the normal amount is. If the stove is using more then what it has in the past then maybe the timer has gone south.
Countryside 3500P (pedestal version) used 10 yrs, 24/7 during days requiring heat. All original motors. Burns moldy corn, and pellets equally well. Burn it if you got it.

Thanks for quick replies. Using count method, pellets appear to drop at same rate regardless of level selected. Yes, going through more pellets in 24 hours - nearly double so likely a problem with one of the sensors. Not sure which part, though? Is it located in the side panel for an easy swap? Any idea of cost?

I cant imagine a timer like that costing more than 25 bucks. And yes its on the side panel.

If your problem is a potentiometer (fuel control) it is $7.25 a year ago.
A timer was $35+

Happy to hear that the part is located on the side and not expensive. Will post the outcome. Thanks!

Ordered fuel control part and was finally able to install myself. Temp on lowest levels went down to comfortable 70. Only lasted two weeks when it jumped to 85 again for a few days, went down to 70 again for few days, and now I cannot get temp above 66 even on higher settings. Emptied hopper and vac'd stove in hopper plus inside unit today. Started up, but could not get temp to raise above 66. Sounds like the auger is spinning changing times as I move fuel control, but pellets are not dropping consistently. Wondering if a pellet is stuck in the auger? Or, can it be some other timer?

Have you checked the head of the drop chute at the end of the auger for something caught there?
