I have a treager gbu-70 furnace, burn pellets hardwood mostly have been heating our home about 1200 sq feet for about 4.5 tons per year. The problem i have is my burn pot cracks in many places every year.ive replaced twice and had welded once,my draft is open 50%.I have emailed the maker asking about the crappy pots but have recieved nothing back.My question is am i doing something wrong or are these pots just garbage.

I have been burning for 4 years in my PB150 now... I have never really had any problems with the burn pot other than one small crack around the top of circular edge. I just sand blasted it and did a quick weld to seal it back up. That being said I had expected worse when first starting to use the PB150 since these pots are under an incredible amount of heat stress. How often have you had to replace the pots or weld them? Also, do you use the same pellets every year? Maybe it has something to do with these...

Thanks for the reply,I am on my 3rd burn pot mostly gets a big bubble on the push plate maybe from the holes on the push plate and ash getting down in there and stopping some of the air flow through the pot. i have been removing the pot once a month and cleaning everything out of there. On the brand of pellets it has been hard to stay with the same brand our Lowes is a shot in the dark you never know wht the have i am burning these Can Wick hardwood pellets this year which are really full of saw dust not good.
