Anyone else having problems with the auger and feed cup motors on the PB150? My uncle and I have both had the unit for 2 years now and year one he had to replace the auger motor only after a few weeks and I had to replace the feed cup motor shortly after that. Now it has been 1 3/4 heating seasons since then and his feed cup motor has now died. From experience how long do these motors last? Should we be replacing them every 1-2 years? The replacement parts from a dealer are $150 per motor, are there any drop in replacements that can be bought elsewhere. Any other words of wisdom when dealing with these motors?

I have a gbu130, this is my first year using the unit and I had to replace the love joy coupling with only about 1 month of use. The original coupling broke the ears off of it, pulled it apart and didn't find anything jammed in the feeder cup. I am currently using a cornvac to clean the corn along with screen as it is being put into my hopper. Not sure if some corn just got jammed into the opening of
where the corn enters the feeder cup? Fixed it and got it back up and running no problem so far!

We are both burning pellets. I told him to cycle the power a few times to see if restarting the motor gave it enough torque to break any jammed pellets that might be freezing up the motor. He did that and heard a snap (pellet breaking?) so I thought that he just had a jammed feeder cup. However, that was last night and again this morning the feed cup motor was not running and was extremely hot to the touch. He told me there was nothing jammed in the feed cup causing the motor to freeze up...

I had a mixture of corn and pellets when I ran into the coupler problem? Maybe pellets are jamming up causing a problem? Until then I was running straight corn and had no problems

my appliance is just a bit older than our host -- Ill wager few burn more tonage thru this model than I. Taht said my motors had A LOT of time on them and they still work every fall and all season.

you might modify yours as as SIDECARFLIP AND BLUE WOLF so eloquently depicted in the post below

That written -- someplace in the old forum are places to get motors a bit less expensive and a link to a surplus company that I have used to get motors dirt cheep - buy two and save one for a spare because the freight is almost more than the device.

unless the feed cup and cutting edge are worn to blunt edge -- corn and or pellets will not stop the cup motor -- BUY a big rusty nail will.

Yes, I did see this post when I went searching. I am sure that I could use one of these but they don't carry 1.5rpm or 6rpm motors, which are the factory unit speeds; according to the manual feed cup is 1 rev every ~45 sec and auger is 1 rev every ~10 sec. They do carry a 1.6rpm CCW 120VAC gearbox motor and a 4.6rpm CCW 120VAC gearbox motor. Is anyone using these successfully on a Traeger PB150?
