I ordered a 10 dollar Surplus supply 6 rpm motor tonight to replace my slow feed cup motor

The plan is -- Ill use my variable feed rate (recycling timer) to give me about 2 rpm ( Ill start there anyway) so I can stuff about 40 % more of this crap condensed paper pellet fuel into the burn pot

Tonight its about as cold as its been this season and I am only getting about 60% output on full burn and the pot is very MT - the crap fuel just burns too fast and by my calculations if I don't increase my use - Ill end up with a skid of unburned bags of crap and Ill be using therms of NG to help baby boiler out. So you see I project I can still get a payback on this accessory.

Somebody is going to get a great machine when I tear baby-boiler out this spring, but I won't look back.

So its another experiment but -- everyone needs a hobby

I applied the new 6 rpm motor to the feed cup last night and tuned the recycling timer so it spins about 4 RPM --

Now I am getting some energy transfer - but at what cost ?

Cheep fuel - you get what you pay for

I suppose -- but now, its worse than if I had bought good quality wood pellets

Some lessons just need to be relearned -- over and over and over

ya I keep looking at 100 ton of horse manure( mostly saw dust)That gets hauled an dumped on the back 10 acres that could be turned into pellets. But after the investment in equipment and time what will I end up with................. Just a pile of S**T Guess I will just spread it on the fields.

yup -- Stick a fork in me

I believe I have received the winning offer for an adoption of Baby Boiler and the relations.

But cash has not changed hands - so no headstone yet.

Sting - Since you have all the bugs worked out did you have thoughts of just letting it sit idle and see what the future brings? The way I understand it one should expect to see fuel and ng jump again this year!

This Generation Traeger boiler HAD all the bugs worked out -- these newer models with their negative pressure burn chamber have shown me that they are far more trouble. All I did was make fuel handling simpler because I went thru so much as the load was/IS large. Now I have preheating capability - corn drying ability - and multiple fuel (pellets corn) blending in an almost infinite ratio both ways. The fuel feed system is stock save for one of three burn pots that I modified to work in stock and hi position. That was only useful when corn was cheep and the HI top pot needed to come out and be cleaned.
I did make a couple of tools to nearly eliminate the bi weekly pot switching - but those and the recycling timers are simply accessories that are easily detached - tossed in the corner - or simply unwired and the appliance is right back to bone stock condition.

NO - I have no desire to heat with solid fuel because I have NG. History shows regardless what liberal hecklers will wail - NG will continue to be my fuel of choice. The old folks home won't need me to provide heat for my room - my cottage has a V2 rocket engine, scorching the air handler - nothing cheaper to run for that

Baby boiler needs to (be) adopted by an oil or propane fired wet system user - the accessorizes I have built will simply be junked or go with it to the junk!

Its all paid for and owes me nothing.

Update -- the offer I had wasn't worth my time (less than scrap value and that's little) so we are back on the market.
