Hello All,

Had a funny situation happen this morning......I was cleaning the ash pan out and stove was doing its cycle just fine, then I went to replace the ash pan and I saw a blue spark come out from where the igniter is and the stove just shut down....

Checked the fuse, its fine, checked the wiring around the igniter, its not great but looks functional...I just cant figure out why the whole thing wont work, and I dont mean igniter doesnt work, I mean no lights on, no fans going...nothing...

Any suggestions on what it could be?

From what Im reading here, if your igniter goes out your stove still works, except for the igniter...

any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

#3 snap disc could have tripped for whatever reason. Check it to see if it needs reset. It shuts the whole stove down. And have you checked the breaker in the house? Did it get tripped? Check for juice in plug-in/wire going to stove? There is a fuse in control box too i believe. Kap

thanks for the help Kapp...

the breaker is fine, and checked it by plugging something else in the plug and it works....i checked the snap disc on the back of the auger tube, i also checked the one on the right of the machine as you open it and its fine, the fuse looked good but replaced anyway just in case...and still nothing....

Did you try jumping the wires on the snap disc behind the drop tube, in case it is bad? Does the red call light come on at all? If call light not on, try jumping the two screws on the stove that the thermostat wires go to, and see what happens.

Got about 3.5 seasons out of the first one.

Had a hard time getting the wing nut off to remove it. Finally I found my sliding bevel (google for a picture of one) and disassembled it and used the slot in to pop the wingnut free.

Not sure if I have the new pellet-only igniter. I bought the spare when the stove warranty ran out.

If it was a while back, it was the high watt one. The wattage is stamped on the bracket, and the high watt has the light colored wires, and the low watt has black wires. Kap

Well lucky for me it was my turn for one to go out. I only burn pellets, so I will go with the lower watt one. It's a shame, never had any issues till this yr with this thing, and my dad is on the market for a new one, but based on my issues I told him to look elsewhere.

Hopefully it will be back running tomorrow, depending on the dealer price for a new one.

At least I'm becoming an expert at taking this thing apart...
