I have a quadrafire santa fe that is blowing the fuse by the control box. After starting it up, the auger did not kick on, now it is blowing fuses. After changing the fuse, it popped the breaker. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I would check the power going to the stove first. If it is fine, then you have a short somewhere, just a process of elimination. Sometimes the fuse holder goes bad. With the auger not running, i would start with #2 snap disc and wires, Vac switch and wires, and auger motor and wires. Unplug stove and make sure control box is seated properly. Never mess with control box unless stove is unplugged. kap

Old thread, but this just happened to me so wanted to add my two cents. I thought I had a short as well when I was blowing fuses, but it ended up being that pellet stoves take a slow burning fuse as opposed to a normal fuse. Radio shack sells them

after blowing two fuses and not knowing why it was because of this, but in turn it blew my fuse holder. i bought a $3 fuse holder and bypassed the built in on the unit.
