Hi guys,

I recently moved and left behind my Mount Vernon...I miss it already...

We obtained a used classic bay 1200 for our new house (mfr date 1997). Had it installed yesterday...a few hiccups.

The stove fired up and the feed agar wouldn't run - then the fuse blew. In trouble shooting found the vacuum switch full of water (!). The stove had been outside under a tarp for a while and water must have found its way in. I found a part in town, replaced it with the new smaller quadrafire vacuum switch, and replaced the fuse. The stove fired up and then as soon as I turned the thermostat on and it called for heat, the red light turned on and the fuse blew again.

Troubleshooting, I disconnected the vacuum switch, a new fuse still blew. Disconnected the feed agar motor, a new fuse still blew. Disconnected the igniter - fuse did not blow. However - looking at the replacment fuses I got they say AGC 2A. The manual says the part is a 0.7amp fuse (in the junction box) but an online parts web site says it is a 7amp fuse. Is this a typo in the manual? If I'm putting a 2A fuse in a 7A requirement, no wonder it is blowing when the ignitor kicks on...

OK thanks! 2 more questions...

I am having trouble finding a 7A fuse in town...any reason a 7.5A wouldn't work?

Also, I currently have a thermostat hard wired right next to my traditional 24V home furnace/AC thermostat. Do you know of any solutions that would allow an integrated thermostat to control the pellet stove, gas furnace and AC all at once? I have looked into a two-stage set up, where the pellet stove is the primary heat source and the heater would only kick on if the pellet stove is not bringing the house up to target temp or the pellet stove runs out of pellets. However, most two-stage thermostats I have found (including the NEST) are 24V and Quadrafire said these are likely not compatible with the pellet stove...

7.5 will work, but would still find the 7. As far as i know, they are not compatible. You can set the furnace tstat at a temp to protect house if stove runs out of pellets, or use a programmable one on furnace to come on at certain time if stove hasn't brought it up to temp by a certain time. Kap
