I recently replaced the auger assembly on my mt.Vern ae and thought that was gonna fix it. I then got a vac switch error. I jumped out the switch and it starts and runs but it continually feeds and eventually fills fire pot overful. Is this controlled at all by the vac switch?

thanks
Wade

The vac switch is only a safety feature, that will shut off the auger if it doesn't sense a vacuum. What is the flame height set at? You may need to lower it. Could be over feeding. And is the stove clean? Exhaust path? By jumping the vac switch, it just means something is wrong. Could be vac switch. Could be plugged vac hose, or nipple on drop tube. Could be partially plugged exhaust. Worn gasket on door, that isn't sealing properly. Do you have a fresh air return? It could be plugged. Stay in touch. Kap

Turned the flame height all the way down and still feeds too much. What next?

Is exhaust path clean? Holes in pot open? Pot floor closing all the way? Pot floor seating against pot ok? What fuel table are you on? Is flame active and bright before pot starts filling up?

Cleaned the stove, turned the flame down all the way and pot is still overfilling. Lites up burns and looks good then slowly overfeeds till pots almost full. How can I adjust the feed.

Flame height adjustment is feed rate. So,you are all the way to -5? And have you checked to see what fuel table you are on? Sometimes when stoves are unplugged, they will default back to corn setting, or sunflower i think. If you are on a pellet setting, try another one. And is this a different fuel? Could it be bad fuel?

And did you make sure the pot floor was seated up against bottom of pot good? No gaps? Closing all the way? May want to buy a bag of another fuel just to rule that out too.

How have you turned out on this? One last option depending on what you have found, is the firepot tc. Kap

Kap, I appreciate u checkin back on me. I checked the pot all seems to shut and seat fine, have tried all options with flame height and fuel. Still overfeeds. Not sure what fire pot tc means. Any further words of wisdom.

Sometimes, a bad firepot thermocouple can make a stove overfeed because it is not sensing the right temp. Did you try a different kind of pellets? Kap
