I recently got a USSC 6041TP and loved it at first. I was a second hand buy but looked brand new and I got a great deal on it. I had them plug it in and run it before I bought it and it all looked good. I got it home and set it up, the ignitor was messed up but no big deal I lit it myself and it ran great for three days, then the fuse blew on the auger motor. I replaced the fuse and it blew again the second I turned it back on.
I unplugged the leads on the motor and turned it on and it stayed on, as soon as I plugged in the motor it popped the fuse again, so I figured bad motor and ordered a new one. Got the new motor, plugged it in and the fuse popped. Now I have no idea what to do. Any ideas please help my house is getting cold thanks.

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum. I have a 6039 and the auger feed is different so I'm not sure if the motor is the same. Maybe try pulling the auger and try turning on the stove without lighting and see if the fuse blows without the auger. If it doesn't I'd suspect a jam somewhere in the auger shoot.
No the auger shouldn't turn easily being that it is connected through a gear box so that won't tell you much.
Any stamped info on the old motor please post here and then we can help find just the motor.
Did you get a motor and gear box all new? I know in the older US Stoves the gear boxes didn't have much grease and most of us put zerks in and grease them yearly.
Let us know about the motor markings.

Hey thanks for the input. It has been a while and I am still fighting with my stove. After my auger motor got fried I ordered another one. As soon as I hooked it up it also fried. I am told now that it is the circuit board and that I need to buy a new one. Of course its the most expensive part to replace. I have looked around for a deal but can not seem to find one less than $350. Anyone know where I could find one cheaper or if there is a chance it could be something else? The people I talked to at USSC were very quick to say it was the circuit board and I was not sure if they have alot of problems with these or if they were just trying to get me to buy an expensive part.
Any input is helpful thanks.
