This is my 2nd season with this stove.

After err 5 codes, 1 hr run times, + blowing 1a time delay auger fuses, + several times cleaning+vacuuming around auger,+ stove. Thinking the old motor was bad, I replaced with a new one, the amps, + rpms, are similar to the old one.

When direct wired, outside the stove, the new motor + old motor rotate fine.

The new motor, + old motor, not hooked up to auger immediately blow the 1a auger fuse. I tried a 2a regular fuse, the new motor, not hooked up to auger, does not rotate, just hums, the old motor, immediately blows the 2a fuse.

Could anyone tell me what going on? thanks.

Sounds like the gear box is hung up. Have you tried running the motor without the gear box? Another fellow posted some of the same issues a couple of weeks ago in the Newbie thread and he hasn't posted back on what he found out.
That gear box won't turn easily if you try by hand, best to take apart, clean, regrease just to make sure everything is clean and moving OK.
At the top of this US Stove forum is 6039 tips and tricks. In it there is an explanation on putting zerks in the gearbox so you can grease them in the future without taking apart.
Even if not putting in the zerks right now I think it's a good read for information on taking the gear box apart before doing so.
Let us know how it turns out.

I had the same problem at first but my issues turned into alot more. I was told from the manufacturer that those fuses are supposed to be 5amp fast acting fuses. Than might be an issue if you are using lower amp fuses. I did not understand that myseld since direct wired the motor was only pulling something like 1.2 amps but I just thought I would let you know what I learned from that manufacturer.

I hate I didn't get back sooner. I replaced the board, motor, and surge protector. Now it runs great, w/ weekly maint.(cleaning + lube).

Thanks for the update, we always like to know the end result. Hopefully most will get their stoves running. Always good to hear of success even though it cost to fix it.

Keep warm.
