Can anyone enlighten me on the air fan on my m250. Should it begin blowing right away or does the burn pot need to reach a certain temp before it starts. I can't remember from last year. I do know the automatic light option is not working this year but once I light it it has never gone out until I shut it down in spring. Pulled the burn pot for the firt time this year and dumped a lot of ash out of it. Any suggestion on the best way to light the fire now the auto light option is not working?

I have soaked some pellets in paint thinner and lit it that way. I have Also used the propane torch.

I think my fan comes on right away.

I had a bad ground on my ignition for awhile.

How were you able to find the bad ground? What do I look for? My fan does not start at all. My fear is if I can't get this going the dealer won't be much help. I had an issue last year and he just kind of rolled his eyes when I asked who they had that would service these boilers.

Try bypassing the vac switch and starting the ignition. If your fan isn't working this is probably why it won't ignite. Will the fan spin by hand?

The fan spins easly by hand. Is the vac control the round piece with the hoses connected and if it is how do I bypass it?

The vac switch is the round thing with the hose. There are two connectors that need to connected. Either use. Jumper cable or piece of wire. Not sure of the voltage so use caution.

May check voltage at the fan too.

My bad ground would cause the panel lights to flicker and then reset.

Thanks for the info. I'll try this tomorrow. I have a volt meter so I'll check it. My lights don't flicker so it's probably not a bad ground. After I try this I'll post the result and give you an update. Maybe we can get this figured out. Thanks again

This is the second year I'm using all pellets. I went thru 7 tons last year. I brought somersets from Menards and they were excellent pellets. This year menards had somersets on sale for $3.68 a bag. TSC matched Menards price and they are just a mile down the road from me, Menards is a 20 mile drive. To top it off TSC also is selling Somersets this year. So I bypassed the vac switch today and fan still didn't start. Volt meter registered power going to the fan but then I started getting a LO reading on the firestar. The unit is full of liquid. I use glycol. The LO reading wasn't there yesterday and I bypassed the liquid senser by jumping it and LO went away but the boiler still wouldn't start. I was getting a LO reading last year but it started working correctly. This boiler should be under warranty. It has a five year limited warrany so I think I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see what they say. Any other ideas?

I had a similar issue with my liquid level the 3rd year. I pulled out cleaned it has has been fine since. Hopefully the dealer is helpful. May be a controller issue.
