What did you find when you had the fire tubes cut out?

They haven't gotten around to it yet. I talked to the guy who is likely to be working on it and he has been working up in Barron for the past few weeks on some big job. I haven't been pushing him. He thought he might get to it next week or the following.

Hey just to let everyone know my maxim 250 will be up and running again in a couple days. Thanks sting for your suggestions but I decided to just shut her down. I tore into her and found one of the gears in the upper auger was toast(stripped). Called my dealer today and Central Boiler is sending a complete gearbox and upper motor unit. They even said they would come put it on for me but there are only four bolts that hold it on, easy to change out yourself. All covered under the warranty. This is a great forum.

Well it sounded ( you were hand feeding ) like it was your only heat source and I thought we could keep it hot somehow! Or rather I thought we must keep it going.

Glad you have a back up -- everyone should.
