Does anyone know of a 12 volt circulating pump? I'm going to add one parellel to my existing pump with valves to isolate. I was without electricty for 1 hr at -28 degrees with my Maxim 250 and had it go into overheat mode. It added water to put out fire. Then when power came back on the wet pellets froze in the transition between the two augers. One and one/half hours later I was back in business. With a 12 volt I'll just hook a battery and not overheat. I have a portable generator for use at the boiler. Thanks

just fix your back up gen set to be an easier and faster fail safe

You want it anyway for other things about the house - like running the well for water!

I would look into RV equipment catalogs, (JCWhitney, etc) you wouldn't get the flow rates I wouldn't think, but they could save you from an overheat. I didn't know a Maxim could overheat as you are burning such a small amount of pellets at a time, mine has never overheated with all the power outages we get around here.

I have a 12 volt inverter I use just put a plug on the wire that feeds the cir. pump, then you can unplug and plug into inverter and hook up to battery
