I have burnt corn for five years but with the corn prices and the farmer I buy from not keeping corn to burn I am switching to pellets. Im thinking it is going to be a lot less work than the corn. Here is the question should I run the pellets through my cleaner ? It would stop some dust I know but that is the only think I can think of. Any ideas ?

I burn corn/pellet mix in my 3500. So far so good. Have a few bags of last year pellets and tons of new Hardwood Pellets this year. I always clean the corn (fanning mill) and I run the pellets over a slide screen cleaner. I find last year pellets more (chaf and fines) and this year switched to all Hardwood Pellets and a lot less (chaf and fines). I always have cleaned the corn and pellets since day one. I think the cleaner the fuel the better the burn and cleanup of ash. So far so good this year as since started a week ago have not had to empty the pan. (Note the pans on the older 3500's are larger than the newer 3500's) I think the reason for the smaller pan on the newer pans is tht they incorporated a sealed type closer. Anyway I would recommend cleaning.
