Needless to say, I'll be more than happy to sell a cornvac attachement if anyone needs one.

The homo depot didn't stock the reducer I needed. Stating this in case the picture of the bushing I shaved down confuses anyone.

Youtube of the cleaner in action. 15ft of PVC hose, about 8ft of 1 1/2" pvc and a bunch of temporary bends with a 6.5HP vac.

Thanks guys. I actually did a large write up last night but when I hit post internet explorer error'd out on me..

In the first picture, I cut a 3x1 1/2" bushing on the miter saw, and used it to hold the screen/pipe in place at the bottom of the kan_burn.

Nice job, Allenelson. You made it to the Kan-Burn WIKI page, here: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/Kan-b...tep_By_Step_Building . Thanks!

Very cool, thanks! Hope this helps someone else. This only takes about an hour to put together. Make sure your bin is absolutely sealed, otherwise the corn won't drop. I'll have an updated bin video once I finish the lid gasket.

This may be a crazy idea but here goes.... has anyone tried to make a 2 stage Kan-burn?? This year my corn has a lot of cob in it. Make stage 1 with 1/2" screen and stage 2 with the smaller screen. Any thoughts????

I'm all for creative thinking, John.

This thread documents my trials and errors during the year that I had large trash problems.

It shows my interim solution and it provides great discussion and ideas from members of the old forum. Perhaps the most creative idea came from VaCornFarmer who proposed a reverse Kanburn with a 1/2" screen to remove the large pieces. I didn't try it because if the vacuum failed, my corn would route to the ground -- at least I couldn't figure how to do it otherwise.

I settled on attaching a coarse grill in front of the intake. It is simple and it keeps the large pieces out of the transfer hose where they can cause blockage. The final solution is documented here.

I'm still intrigued with your question nonetheless and am hoping to see another round of creative discussion of the kind that begat the Kan_Burn in the first place.

John, sounds like we pick up corn from the same farmer.. The last ton I picked up had a lot of stalk/cob pieces in it. I was just grabbing the bigger pieces as I was sucking it off the truck, but that same thought crossed my mind.

I'm going to throw together a second kan_burn. I feel like if the vac was coming from the top of the pipe rather than the bottom, it might help remove more dust and fines because of gravity. Pulling the fines up while the corn continues to fall seems like a pretty good idea to me. Might try the double screen idea as well, that'd be nicer than hand picking.
