All good ideas. Picking up on Bone's idea, a clear window would help identify whether corn is really bunching up at that fitting. If you drilled a few 1" or 3/4" holes along the body of the big KB, then it could be easily covered with a piece of semi-rigid plastic glued to the body. I did this for my corn barrel, using a scrap of clear visor, which is just what I happened to have lying around.

If there is bunching at that elbow, then I'm thinking that a shallower elbow could be used in its place if rotated so that the corn flows progressively from the right to the left of the page without having to reverse back on itself to the right.

Guy's here a picture of the contraption...

Bone, you may very well be right. To close to the forest to see the trees. I think I will replace with a 4x3 reducer,3"-90° and a 3x2 reducer just to open that area up.

please excuse the messy shop.

John

Just to report success.... changed fittings to 3" coming out and it did help, but still slow. Then put little pneumatic vibrator on. Better job of cleaning. Back up to my original speed. Now let's see if it holds up and the Vibco bb100 doesn't shake the whole thing apart. Now to build a proper fram to hold the thing in place.
Thanks for all the support and suggestions.

Way to go, John ! Your contraption made it to the WIKI here: forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/Kan-burn#Evolution . It is dubbed the first 2-stage kb.

WOW, Thanks Corny did not expect that.
Also a special thanks to Allenelson!!
Without his great pictorial on the Kan_burn build I would not have gotten the "wild Hair" to try this.

Did you figure out a total cost?

Which set of plans did you use?

I'm guessing that with ebay purchased vibrator I have around $100 in it.

I will post picture of my as of now final set up.(It's a work in progress,as I have a problem sometimes leaving well enough alone.)

Nice to see you still hanging around, C4 . If I had access to NG, I'd prob'ly follow your lead.

John, you mightn't know that C4 is the originator of most of the material on the Kan-Burn WIKI page plus the tag line "Husband feeling like he was on the cover of Popular Mechanics- PRICELESS". It remains one of the most popular pages on the WIKI with almost 30,000 views to date.
