I was just thinking the same thing. I have 10 bushels of pellet/corn mix that I would like to get burnt up. Those stupid pellets like to absorb water and I don't need a corn buffet for the mice all summer long. Hopefully we get a couple weeks where I can burn it up.

Tell me about it! I have my stove full of corn pellet mix, and I have a 55 gallon barrel of corn to get rid of too. I'm sure we will still get some cool evenings and chilly mornings I can burn this off, unless it just keeps getting warmer.

Yep, sure is an odd spring, eh? We too have about 10 bu. to burn but not when it's 84 on freaking March 20th!! It's hard to remember that it can and has snowed in Northern Indiana in May so we still may get some cold weather.

Gotta say I've gotten a lot of yard work done this past week. Just too beautiful not to be outside. Two ugly makeshift dog pens, gone. Crappy 12'x6' concrete block pad that was plunked down in the middle of the back yard, gone. And wow, there was a chicken coop hidden in a overgrown weed patch! Actually, I knew the coop was there but I didn't have a clue about the big pile of unsplit stove wood...or the railroad ties...or the metal roof panels. Even discovered a stock gate hidden in the 6' tall weeds.

The garden has finally dried out enough to work. A friend is bringing a load of composted cow manure tomorrow so I'm praying we don't get rain until it's tilled in. This is the first time since last fall (when we struck the deal for the manure) that it's finally dry enough to get a truck behind the barn and to the garden. Wet clay...not a good thing to drive on. Sink into is more like it...

well I've been around a long time and I never remember a march like this.
I got about 35 bags of pellets left and I'm starting to wonder if I'll get a chance to use them up this year.
usually my last fire has been in the first week of may and I've been burning two bags a day so one would think there will be at 17 cold nights between now and then..........like homemade said kinda strange wishing for cold weather.........lol

Not so fast here, highs of only 45 here in central WI on monday, going to need to burn a little more corn here. Probably even tonight, only 55 degrees out now, and house is only 63, brrrr. Spoiled after being in the 70's and 80's this last week.....
