You made my day, JA, along with Blume who kindly gave me the heads-up. Many thanks to you both.

Great to see you back, Tinman, B-Mod, and Nogas.

Myself, I wasn't expecting to burn corn this year, but I called a local elevator today and found it priced better than oil and pellets, so I'll be getting a load tomorrow at about $260 per US ton. What about you guys?

Corny

Hi Corny, when you mentioned about not expecting to burn corn this year, it made me think that I didn't even check the price of corn this year , with pellets at $190 per ton, I know that I'm not going to find any corn that cheap.
So its pellets for me. I used the stove the last two nights, its been in the mid 30's here.

besides my corn bin is in the barn and is cover with a bunch of stuff

Hello all, boy am I glad to see the site back up and running! I bought another stove over the off season and visited the site to try and get some advice, I was taken back when it would not come up.

Eitherway glad its back online and looking forward to a good burning season, going to attempt to fire up the Magnum tonight if all goes well. I bought a St. croix Auburn and in the process of figuring what to do with it, it was to good of a deal to pass up. B

Thanks, JA, for getting the site back up. Great to see everyone again.

Been burning for a week, just short burns to take the chill off. Already had a few heavy frost mornings...sure is pretty when the pastures are all frosty white.

Funny how messy a barn gets over the summer... Hubby's out there now, cleaning the spot where we park the trailer and corn box. Checked price last week when I picked up a few bags of corn to get us by until there's room in the barn for our winter supply. 50 cents a bu. more than it was last year so yeah, a little more expensive but...we all know how I like being warm...

Welcome back and hello to everyone. Hope your summer went well.

Have not had to use the stove yet but the new bearings are in the fan and the wheat has been cleaned and in storage since early August.

Got up this morning to actually see some rain. Like everywhere else it been dry here for months.

I almost forgot how much I love the smell of a corn stove, Our area in Ontario had a super dry summer as well, which brought up corn prices to some extent, however im looking forward to having a corn stove for the entire burning season, and hoping to not have my oil furnace kick on at all. We got our corn stove installed in january and loved every day it worked right, it was a strong learning curve as we know no one in person who has ever had or even heard of corn stoves, so thank god i found this forum last winter, as we would still be burning dirty corn unefficiently to this day..

Nice to be back, i think the corn stove is the only thing i look forward to in the winter

AR - good to see you back! Ever get a furnace or are you still looking? I have a little left over corn from last year and been lightly mixing with pellets. I will probably buy a ton to mix with the boiler Dec - Feb, but we have the business up for sale, and don't want to be burdened with moving if we sell, and the new buyer doesn't want to mess with bio-mass.
