I have a 6041 and usually burn on Cr-1 with a clinker pot. I do change it from automatic because I turn the room fan up to 2 or 3. I feel like I can capture more heat that way. The only time I turn it to Cr-2 is when it gets 15 degrees or lower outside. Usually pull the clinker once a day and let it run 24/7

Glad you are getting to know the stove, they aren't the most expensive or fancy stoves but when you learn how to run them they will do the job and are easy to find parts for.

SandyHook, WOW, very sorry as to what happened there, no sense what so ever. I can't imagine what everyone there has gone through. That one monster can disrupt so many innocent lives is unbelievable.

Prays to all and hope the best for everyone.

Thanks FirepotPete. It sure hit us hard here..We lost four kids in our neighbour hood.I have a hard time understanding why..A Monster for sure ..I have other names but lets not go there.. Thank you and everyone for the help..I now have been running 24/7 with great results..But now I threw my self a curve ball . I bought a bag of cherry pits. Not to sure when I mix them I see any difference..I do notice they make a crunching noise when traveling up the auger..Once they are finished I think that will be the last bag.. They are about $1.00 cheaper..Do you think its worth cutting the pellets with the pits..? I dont..! Anybody mix Pit with pellets..?

I have mixed 25 % cherry pits with pellets when it got super cold, the pits burn hotter but make more ash. Corn/pellet mix is still the best when you need extra heat. Straight pellets burn great in our stove so I only add the corn when it gets below zero. I bought the pits at Tractor Supply can not remember what brand they were but I found that there were rocks in the pits the same size as the pits, not a good thing to be running though your auger. Yes the pits make lots of noise going though auger, they are semi hollow, wife did not like noise and liked it even less after I discovered the rocks.

I have found corn and pellets the perfect mix. the corn starts easier and doesn't build up a real hard clinker when you add pellets. The mix prevents bridging and if you have to burn corn that is 15% adding some pellets makes it possible. You get more volume of fuel with corn then with pellets because of air space between pellets so that is why there is less heat. I got some pellets once that were 1/4 diameter and 1/4 long they burned great and provided more heat then anything I burned. Unfortunately they were only available one year.
