LOL, Always a first from Bear's fans. Oh well, cheering for the Pack will only last another 3-4 hours and then you can go back to normal.

Who now Pete? [/quote]

The Pack of course. I bet on and made a lot of money on the 85-86 Bears. I have a lot of respect for the franchise. Personal reasons, I even met Papa Bear many times when I was a kid. My father played for the Pack for eight years and had all the respect for old George Halas and his players.
I always cheer for the division first. Although the Vikes leave a bad taste in my mouth considering how many times they've embarrassed us in the SB over the years.

GO PACK!!!!!!!!!!

I have been able to make a comparison on clinkers. With Indeck I get a fine light ash that will not form a clinker. I have to scoop the ash out. The Somersets have a heavier ash and form a clinker strong enough that I can remove with kitchen tongs. Quite a difference. I wonder if the difference is in the wood or the binders.

I don't think they use binders, just natural lignin that binds when pressure heats it. Go Bears and Packers

Sometimes, if the wood fibers are coming from where there is sanding done, there will be small amounts of silica mixed in with the wood fibers from the sand paper, and when burned, they will leave more of a clinker too.

Well after mixing and burning 5 bags of the Wood Fiber pellets I will say although dirty and soft they burned very well. As I increased the ratio of pellets to corn it got to the point where the clinker would slide off the clinker fork. Been burning clinker for 4 years now and have never had that happen before. The more pellets the worse it got.
Now burning a mix of Marth Pine Pellets from Fleet Farm, wonderful smell outside mixed with the corn, will see later tonight how the clinker forms on the fork, I mixed at least 60-70% pellets to corn.
Finally got to crank the stove a little, -5 this morning had it set to HR5, about 2.85lbs per hour. Wife actually said it was to warm this morning (first time ever) but stove sure seems to burn nice and clean at HR3 and above.
I suppose in my cheapness I've throttled down the air on the lower settings, just enough to burn nice without going out, I'm guessing it could use more air, but then the heat goes out the pipe

Happy New Year to all and of course stay warm.

Called Menards, they said out of Somerset, but have Magic Spark. Good, they burn long and hot too. Get there and saw open pallet inside the store. Place order for a ton and get outside, and all they have is "Southern-Indiana-Hardwoods". The guy on the for lift said he seen 1 ton of Somerset in the garden area and brought those out for me. Has anyone seen or tried the Southern-Indiana-Hardwoods? There was a bag that was ripped open and they looked like nice oak pellets. Menards said they are all out of the others, and this is what they got for now. I may go back and pick a few bags up and give them a try. Just curious if any one else has seen these.

I tried them. The ash is white and fluffy and heat is good if you allow for long pellets on your setting. Fine if weather isn't too cold. If you need lots of #'s an hour .......

Burning only pellets here with a quadrafire sante fe

2 pallets of somersets & 2 of greenway. Both burning well & very consistent same as last year.
Tractor supply had presale for $3.79/bag then had coupon for $0.50/off per bag on top of that...not bad! Had to jam 3 pallets into shed & 1 on porch covered.
