Just wondering what is everybody running for a UPS Backup, what should I look for, never had one on the 7100, but now I am looking for one for the US 8500. The manual says it needs 1100 how big should I get.

The manual says it draws 1100 or that it needs a 1100 ups backup?

Sorry to answer your question you always want to go to at least one size bigger then require. 1500 would work. If someone is always available to hook up power during power outage just getting a 1500 inverter would work.

Here is one link to a good 1500 ups.

Tripp lite is one of the top companies and I run a tripp lite 750 on my pellet stove it draws around 400 and with one deep cell battery it has lasted 8 hours before I got home and started generator.

If you look around you could find a cheaper ups, amazon has a 2400 for less the the above 1500.

You can get a cheaper inverter only, but it's a more secure feeling that if the power goes out, your battery is fully charged and the inverter will switch the power to the batter and back when the electric comes back on.

I have a 800 watt inverter, a deep cell battery and I have only used once in 8 years, knock on wood. It won't ignite the stove, but it will run it well, motors seem to run just a little slower, you can hear a lower pitch in them. My stove only requires 400 watts to run.

I require the same watts Nogas and have a 750 watt inverter. Made a mistake by buying big auto battery for power instead of deep cycle. Has not been a problem since I've never used it.
